Female Knight by BistroD Female Knight by BistroD
Part of a series of works i'm doing for my portfolio, aimed to game design.
Knights: Members of upper-class families, of noble-birth and aristocrathic privileges. They excel at fighting, but are very smug and arrogant, and look down on people from lower social stratum.

Awesome design. The only criticism I have is that the toes-in stance is not very stable for fighting. She'd be really easy to throw off balance.

Holy crap she doesn't have a boob plate. This looks really good dude! Glad you decided not to give her said boob plate. Tose things are essentially suicide.

I'm thinking of basing a character I'm designing on this. Once again great job dude. Love the dark colors contrasting with her hair and the draping cloth around her back.

She also genuinely looks strong, that's a plus for a knight!

Well impractical and pointless, yes, but suicide... there are some facts that would suggest differently. Plate armor, double heat-treated/hardened steel plate armor anyway, is a lot stronger than people seem to think. If it were made of regular steel, yeah a good lance thrust would penetrate that pretty easily especially if you had a boob-shape in the chest plate that guided the tip into an indention that it could get caught in (sorta like a funnel), and then pierce through in the middle of the chest which is like the worst possible spot. But if it's high-quality armor then no matter how good of a swordsman, spearman, lancer, or whatever you are, the chances of you biting into that deeply enough to do any real damage are slim to none, double-heat-treated plate armor is similar in hardness and flexibility to the swords people would be using. That's why weapons such as the mace and war hammer came about since steel plates can't deflect blunt force (and even if it doesn't draw blood, or even break any bones per se, it still hurts like hell), and why battle axes with long thin spikes on the back and/or top of the ax-head started showing up; these weapons made it easier to exploit the chinks (i.e. the joints) in the armor, and in response armor with fewer exploitable joints was developed.
So in short, while it could potentially give an extra indention for the tips of weapons to get caught in without giving any clear advantages in exchange, it wouldn't necessarily be as much of a disadvantage as you might think. But, yes, it is indeed pointless and if anything it would be a negative.
